Glen Dawson 10th Mountaineer and Tap were on the Trooper Traverse across the alpine highlands of the Rocky Mountains from Leadville to Aspen Colorado

Former Sierra Club Director 1937-1951 Glen Dawson was an established mountaineer who made the famous “Trooper Traverse” with Tap over the alpine highland from Leadville to Aspen across the highest part of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. He tells stories of what was learned on the first traverse of this kind. Glen is 93 and author of “Letters to Emily”, his WWII correspondence with his niece. He continues to correspond with soldiers in the 10th Mountain division and will share some of those letters.I have scheduled an interview with Glen in Passedena CA in early May to discuss his life, family, the 10th, WWII, and Soldiers of the 10th today.
